Physics Concepts for Early Childhood Education (#17)

Physical Science:

"The understanding of properties of objects and materials, position and motion of objects, and light, heat, electricity, and magnetism"

Physical science activities can be fun and so easy to implement in the classroom!

Painting with Magnets:

Place drops of paint and anything that is magnetic inside a thin, tin, baking sheet or plastic tray.

Place heavy duty magnets on the bottom of the tin baking sheet and try to move the magnetic objects around. Try mixing the paints together, what color would you get??

Using Ramps and Marbles to Learn About Motion:

Tumble Trax Magnetic Marble Run
Children can explore creating their own paths and use problem solving techniques to get the marble in the box

Or use the cards that come with the Tumble Trax as a guide

Other Physical Science Activities:

  • Exploring magnets

  • Using Marble Tracks

  • Creating Rubber Band Guitars
  • Oobleck
  • Making Paint from Plant and Vegetables
  • Melting Crayons
